Multiple Water Rescues Reported In Harvey Cedars On Sunday

Even though the ocean may look calm, often it's not, beach patrol says

HARVEY CEDARS, NJ - Just because the ocean may look calm, appearances can be deceiving. Underneath the surf, rip currents may be churning away.

That apparently was the case in Harvey Cedars on Sunday, where members of the beach patrol made a number of water rescues, according to the beach patrol's Facebook page.

"Multiple water rescues today due to rip currents and a current pulling to the south," the post states. "The water may appear calm, but the ocean is unpredictable. Always use caution and swim when lifeguards are on duty from 10 a.m.-5 p.m."
