National Weather Service Issues Wind Advisory For Jersey Shore Ahead Of Cold Front

Falling trees, power outages possible.

The tranquil weather of the last few days is on its way out, to be replaced by strong winds and an impending cold front, according to the National Weather Service.

The NWS has issued a wind advisory beginning from 7 p.m. tonight to midnight on Sunday night. Winds will be from west, northwest from 15 to 20 miles per hour, with gusts of 40 to 50 miles per hour.

Maximum wind gusts are most likely tonight, as the cold front moves in and into Sunday during the daylight hours.

The winds will be strong enough to bring down tree limbs and utility lines. Scattered power outages are possible.

The winds may also make driving difficult, especially with a large vehicle, the NWS says.
