Registration Opens For Barnegat's Holiday Light Contest

BARNEGAT, NJ — Think your Christmas lights are more merry and bright than any in Barnegat? Here's how to prove it.

Barnegat Recreation has opened registration for "Deck the House," the township's annual Christmas light competition. Registration will be open through Friday, Dec. 10, and participants must decorate homes by Dec. 16.

Any resident or business can participate. To register, contact Jeanne Broadbent at jbroadbent@barnegat.net or call 609-548-6319 for an application that will be forwarded to you.

Addresses will be listed on the township’s webpage and under the Barnegat Recreation’s Facebook page.

Voting will be open on Dec. 15 - 21 through a contest link that will be posted online. Voting ends at noon on Dec. 21.

For residents, the first place prize is a $100 gift card and 2nd place is a $50 gift card. For businesses, the first place prize is an office pizza party.

Winners will be determined by the participants that receive the most votes from the public and announced on Dec. 22.
