Richard W. Pereira, Jr., Hunting Accident Victim, Dies At 26
Services will be held on Wednesday and Thursday.

Richard W. Pereira, Jr., 26, of Waretown, passed away tragically on January 28, 2017.
He was born in Toms River, and lived most of his life in Waretown. He graduated from Southern Regional High School, then went on to graduate from the Ocean County Technical Vocational School in 2008. He was employed with Ted's Well Service in Bayville as a well driller and an expert technician for many years. Richard was a talented artist and an avid outdoorsman. He enjoyed his 4x4's and ATVs and especially loved to hunt and fish.

Richard is predeceased by his maternal grandfather Kenneth W. Stein, his aunt Kathleen Lang and his uncle Thomas Lang. Surviving are his parents Richard, Sr. and Kimberly Pereira; his siblings Elizabeth Pereira and Nicholas Pereira; his girlfriend Brianna Stafford; his grandparents Manuel and Lucille Pereira and grandmother Lois Putnam and her husband David; his aunts and uncles, Jeff and Kim Pereira, Lori and Thomas Arnold and Joy and Stan Barber; his godfather Manny Pereira and godmother Karolyn Scaranda. Also surviving are many loving cousins, extended family and friends.
The viewing will be held from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, February 1, 2017 at the Mastapeter Funeral Home, 270 Atlantic City Blvd. Bayville, NJ 08721. The funeral service will begin at 10:30 a.m. Thursday. on Feb. 2 at the funeral home, before leaving to celebrate a 12 p.m. Funeral Mass at Saint Mary Church in Barnegat. Burial will follow to Reevestown Cemetery in Barnegat.
