Do not keep valuables or firearms in your vehicles, police say.

Surf City police are investigating a recent series of break-ins into unlocked vehicles in a borough neighborhood, according to the department's Facebook page.

Residents and visitors are reminded to lock their car doors, whether at home or visiting a business. They are also urged not to keep valuables in their cars. If you have to keep valuables in your vehicle, keep them out of sight and lock them in your trunk.
