Waretown Historical Society's Candlelight Ghost Tour Coming Up On Oct. 29

Want to get scared the old-fashioned way?
Then register for the Waretown Historical Society's annual Candlelight Ghost tour at dusk on Oct. 29, while there are still spots available.
This event is a guided tour of the Old Presbyterian and Cedar Grove Cemeteries by candlelight at dusk, starting at 5 p.m., said Adele R. Shaw,

"These old cemeteries date back to the 1740s and the people buried there have tales to tell of shipwrecks, pirates and the Revolution," she said.
Participants will meet at the museum at 182 Wells Mills Road at 5 p.m. to purchase tickets and have some light refreshments. The tour begins at 5:30 p.m.

The Candlelight Tour is the only event the society charges for. The money goes straight to our Scholarship Fund for Waretown students graduating from Southern Regional High School.
"Our Victorian-era cemeteries are museums in stone," Shaw said. "To protect them from too much traffic, tour registration is limited to 75. "This tour is a lot of fun. In a sense, it is the closet thing to time travel we can experience, right here in Waretown
