There are several options to keep the kids busy this summer around Basking Ridge, school camps, sports camps, and more.

Bernards Township Parks & Recreation - The Bernards Township Summer Recreation program opens registration in February and is open to children entering Grades K - 5 (Fall 2026) at the three elementary schools in town. For more information, visit bernards.org/departments/recreation.

Day Camp Sunshine - 3575 Valley Road, Basking Ridge. Camp is offered for children pre-K through 9th grade. Each week of camp will feature a unique theme packed with fun activities, exciting adventures, and unforgettable memories for children. For more information - daycampsunshine.org.

Camp Acorn at Somerset Hills YMCA - 140 Mt Airy Road, Basking Ridge. A 10-week program that runs 5 days per week, Monday, June 22 through Friday, Aug. 28 for campers entering Preschool – 11th grade in September 2026. They have something for every kind of child at every age with both traditional multi-activity and specialty camp options. Summer Day Camp at Raritan Valley Community College - June 22 - Aug. 21 at 118 Lamington Rd, Branchburg. The campus sits on 100-plus acres and features state-of-the-art facilities, including air-conditioned classrooms, swimming pool, gymnasium, and ample field space used by all enrolled campers ages 5-13. JCC Camp Ruach - June 22 to Aug. 14 - 775 Talamini Road, Bridgewater. Summer camps for kids in all age groups. Every age group has slightly different programming ensuring the activities are both age appropriate and that campers have new activities to look forward to each summer. All specialty areas are facilitated by trained staff in their respective areas. Some activities, including ropes course and archery are taught by certified staff in those respective areas. Camp Riverbend - 116 Hillcrest Road, Warren. Camp for children ages 3 to Grade 9. Offers swimming, sports, adventure course and high ropes, pedal karts, spray park, river activities, arts and crafts, ninja course, nature, cooking, performing and circus arts, and more. LifeTime - 145 Commons Way, Bridgewater. Camp is offered for children ages 4 to 13 with fun weekly themes; electives (Camper’s choice) each week; craft and creativity activities; sports, fitness and gym games; swim, swim lessons and/or swim team; Friday on-site and off-site field trips; healthy snacks; before and after care up to 2 hours before and after camp (9 a.m. - 4 p.m.); and curbside drop-off and pick-up. Oak Crest Day Camp - 92 Cortelyous Lane, Somerset. For children aged 3 to 15, the camp provides door-to-door transportation. Oak Crest offers an array of engaging activities for kids of all ages, ensuring that every day is an adventure. For the youngest campers, there are activities like swimming, bicycling, rock climbing, and arts and crafts.
