Somerset County’s 2026 Swearing-In Ceremony, Reorganization Meeting Set

The ceremony will include the swearing-in of Somerset County Commissioners, Sheriff, and Surrogate.

SOMERSET COUNTY, NJ — Somerset County will host its 2026 swearing-in ceremony and reorganization meeting on Friday.

The ceremony will begin at 3 p.m. in the Somerset County Historic Courthouse, at 20 North Bridge St., Somerville.

The ceremony will include the swearing-in of re-elected Commissioners Melonie Marano and Elizabeth Graner, and the swearing-in of re-elected Constitutional Officers Sheriff Darrin J. Russo and Surrogate Bernice "Tina" Jalloh, Esq.

In the November election, Democrat Commissioner Marano received 78,664 votes over Republican Nick Cuozzo with 56,268 votes.

Democrat Commissioner Graner received 78,517 votes over Republican Michelle Mayorga with 55,359 votes.

In the race for Somerset County Sheriff, incumbent Democrat Russo received 80,547 votes over Republican Michael Manochio with 54,872 votes.

In the race for Somerset County Surrogate, incumbent Democrat Jalloh received 78,048 votes over Republican Chris Corsini with 55,814 votes.
