Tractor Trailer Veers Down Embankment On I-78 In Somerset County: NJ State Police

The driver of the tractor-trailer was taken to a hospital for injuries following the crash on Saturday.

BASKING RIDGE, NJ — A tractor-trailer veered off Interstate 78 following a crash in Basking Ridge on Saturday.

At 10:23 a.m., New Jersey State Police(NJSP) Troopers went I-78 West at milepost 32.4 in Bernards Township, where they found a crash had occurred between a Toyota sedan and a Freightliner tractor-trailer, said Trooper Christopher Postorino.

A preliminary investigation found that the crash caused the tractor-trailer to veer off the road to the left and hit a guardrail.

The tractor-trailer driver was taken to an area hospital with minor injuries.

The crash remains under investigation, and no additional information is available.
