Man Exposes Himself To 2 Women At Pleasant Valley Park In Basking Ridge: Blotter

The blotter for November also includes arrests for DWI, an elderly scam, a Facebook Marketplace scam, vehicle burglary, and more.

BASKING RIDGE, NJ — A man reportedly exposed himself to two women at Pleasant Valley Park last month, according to the Bernards Township Police blotter for November.

On Nov. 2, officers went to Pleasant Valley Park for a report of a white man who exposed himself to two adult women on a walking path in the park.

Officers searched the area but were unable to find the man. The Detective Bureau is investigating the incident.

During the month of November, Bernards Township Police Officers responded to 24 motor vehicle crashes. There were five injuries reported and 13 motor vehicle summonses issued.

On Nov. 8: Officer Bryson Buchanan found a vehicle at the Lyons Mall that had an active warrant for Sharon Kranzke of South Amboy. Buchanan saw Sharon sitting in the passenger seat and tried to stop the vehicle. The vehicle, a black Chevy Equinox driven by Kristopher Kranzke fled from the Lyons Mall and began to drive in a manner to elude apprehension. Due to the nature of the warrant, Buchanan did not chase after the vehicle. Further investigation has determined that the occupants of the vehicle Sharon and Kristopher Kranzke shoplifted items from the Stop and Shop in the Lyons Mall and are the suspects of several shoplifting incidents in Somerset, Middlesex, and Union County. Kristopher was issued multiple motor vehicle summonses; criminal charges are pending for both individuals.

On Nov. 17: Corporal Dominick Aboosamara was contacted by the Sarasota Sheriff’s Office(Florida) regarding a theft by deception case in which they identified a victim as residing in Basking Ridge. The case involves an elderly scam that tricks victims into giving packages of cash to couriers at their homes or a public meeting spot. Our victim is at a loss, currently between $30-40,000. The Detective Bureau is investigating the incident.

On Nov. 18: Corporal Slawomir Zolnierowski was monitoring traffic on Interstate 78 East and stopped a vehicle that was driving 101 mph. After contacting the driver of the vehicle, Stanley Etienne of Maplewood, it was determined that Etienne was operating the vehicle while under the influence of drugs or alcohol. Etienne was arrested and issued motor vehicle summonses for DWI, speeding, unsafe lane change, and littering.

On Nov. 22: A resident of Commonwealth Drive reported a Facebook Marketplace scam involving the Zelle cash app, in which the victim was defrauded out of $1,100. The Detective Bureau is investigating the incident.

On Nov. 25: Patrol officers responded to a residence on Georgetown Court for a report of a motor vehicle burglary. Several items were taken from the vehicle to include bank cards, which were used after the burglary. The Detective Bureau is investigating the incident.

On Nov. 26: Corporal Slawomir Zolnierowski initiated a motor vehicle stop and arrested Laquan Brinson of Newark for an outstanding traffic warrant from Bernards Township Municipal Court. Brinson was processed on scene and released pending a new court date.

On Nov. 27: Officer William Krajicek responded to a report of a single-car motor vehicle crash on Stonehouse Road near S Finley Avenue. After investigating the crash, it was determined that the driver, Jeffrey Sanchez of Wayne, was driving the vehicle while under the influence of drugs or alcohol. Sanchez was arrested and issued multiple motor vehicle summonses to include DWI. Sanchez was released pending a future court date.

On Nov. 30: A resident of Spencer Road reported criminal mischief after discovering their Christmas lights had been damaged. The Detective Bureau is investigating the incident.
