The Bernie stays true to its historic roots with the original stone foundation and rustic wooden beams remaining. It has also received several modern upgrades such as new sound and lighting upgrades, and new chairs and tables.
The club offers its own sharable and small plates menu and special drinks list. Dishes included Lobster Dumplings (miso tomato, chili oil, preserved lemon), Bernie Smash Burger (cheddar, caramelized onion, B1 sauce), Fried Chicken Sando (mango scotch bonnet aioli, cabbage slaw, tajin), flatbreads and more to come.
The Bernie and Red Horse renovations are part of a multi-million-dollar upgrade project in progress at the Bernards Inn located in the center of Bernardsville across from the train station.
In July, Burke entered a partnership with The Bernards Inn owner, Hampshire Destination Properties, LLC, a subsidiary of The Hampshire Companies.
Burke plans for an official opening event for The Bernie in May.
