Police Investigate Shooting in Somerset County: Prosecutor

Detectives are attempting to establish a motive for the shooting of a 24-year-old Somerville resident which occurred on Sept. 19.

Detectives are attempting to establish a motive for the shooting of a 24-year-old Somerville resident which occurred in Bound Brook on Sept. 19.

Bound Brook Police responded to a call in the area of Fischer Ave. just after 11 p.m. and found a man lying in the roadway with a gunshot wound to his lower torso area.

The victim, who has not been identified, has been uncooperative with investigators and refused to provide details surrounding the shooting, according to the Somerset County Prosecutor’s Office.

“The officers along with Emergency Medical Technicians treated the victim at the scene and subsequently transported him to an area hospital for emergency treatment,” according to the prosecutor’s office.

“The injuries were not considered life threatening and the victim is expected to survive.”
