'Voices For Health' Community Survey Launched By Bernards Township Health Department
The survey is designed to help the Bernards Township Health Department better understand the needs, priorities, & concerns of the community.
BASKING RIDGE, NJ — The Bernards Township Health Department is inviting residents from its six contractual municipalities to participate in their Community Health Survey, "Voices for Health," now open through Jan. 5, 2026.
The survey is open to all residents of Bernards Township, Bernardsville Borough, and Peapack and Gladstone Borough in Somerset County, Chester Borough, Long Hill Township, and Mendham Borough in Morris County.
The survey is designed to help the Bernards Township Health Department better understand the needs, priorities, and concerns of the communities it serves.

"The more responses we receive, the stronger and more meaningful our data will be," says Bernards Township Health Department Health Officer, Dawn Marling. "This will allow us to shape programs, services, and outreach efforts that truly meet the needs of residents."
Survey results will directly aid in the Bernards Township Health Department’s planning for future public health initiatives.

The data will help guide programs and services in areas such as health education, disease prevention, and public health screenings. It will also support needs-based decision making and ensure that resources are targeted where they are most needed, allowing services to evolve with the community’s changing health priorities.
The mission of the Bernards Township Health Department is to provide competent, professional, and efficient public health and environmental services to the communities it serves.
Through the delivery of State-mandated “Public Health Practice Standards of Performance for Local Boards of Health in New Jersey” and the ordinances and policies of each contractual Board of Health, the Bernards Township Health Department protects the public’s health through health promotion, environmental enforcement, and inspection activities.
Residents are encouraged to share the survey with friends and neighbors to help improve overall participation. The survey takes approximately 10-15 minutes and is available in both English and Spanish.

Paper copies are also available at the Health Department office in Basking Ridge, at each of the public libraries serving Bernards Township, Bernardsville, Chester, Mendham, and Long Hill Township, as well as at the Peapack & Gladstone Municipal Building.
