Winter Reading Challenge At Bernards Township Library

The challenge is open to kids, teens, and adults. Participants in each age group will be entered into a raffle for a chance to win prize.

BASKING RIDGE, NJ — The Bernards Township Library is spreading winter fun this January with its annual Winter Reading Challenge for children, teens, and adults. Participants in each age group will be entered into a raffle for a chance to win prizes.

Adults are invited to Cozy Up with a Good Book by downloading a reading tracker from the library’s website at BernardsLibrary.org.

The Teen Winter Reading Challenge will be hosted exclusively on Beanstack. Teens can sign up at BernardsLibrary.beanstack.org.

Children and families are encouraged to celebrate the joy of reading aloud together through the library’s Snuggle Up with a Good Book family read-aloud program.

Families can stop by the library to pick up a coloring “quilt” to track their reading progress, along with a special treat for children.

During the month, families can color one quilt square for every 15 minutes they read together. Quilts may also be printed from the library’s website.

Completed quilts returned to the library by Jan. 31 will be entered into a raffle. Be sure to check out the Dav Pilkey prize pack when picking up your quilt and treat.

To celebrate the Family Read Aloud Program, Trilogy Repertory Company will present Dorothy and the Wizard of Oz on Saturday, Jan. 31, with performances at 10:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. Registration is not required.
