2 Home Burglary Attempts On Same Day In Nutley: Police
Police said one of the incidents involved two men dressed in reflective traffic vests.
NUTLEY, NJ — Two attempted home burglaries were recently reported on the same day in Nutley, authorities say.
The Nutley Police Department released the following details about the burglary attempts, which took place on Nov. 17:
GRANT AVENUE – “Multiple units responded to a residence on the report of a burglary. Officers on scene cleared their backyard where the residents observed the parties attempting to gain entry into their vehicle and the rear bathroom window of their home. The residents provided footage showing three male suspects – all dressed in dark-colored, hooded sweatshirts, dark-colored sweatpants, black face masks and gloves – exit what appears to be a white Acura sedan. The area was canvased, and residents were advised that the detective bureau will be notified and would be following up with them.”

BEECH STREET – “Officers responded to a residence on a report of attempted burglary. Upon arrival, officers met with the resident who stated their spouse witnessed two male parties attempting to enter their side window. The spouse was able to scare them off and observed them leaving on foot. The first unknown party that cut the screen to the window was wearing dark clothing, a green, reflective traffic vest, and a white hard hat. The second unknown party was carrying a gray bag in their left hand, wearing dark clothing including a hooded sweatshirt, and a green, reflective traffic vest. Units canvased the area, and the detective bureau was on scene.”
