Belleville Convenience Store Robbed at Gunpoint
Man robbed store at gunpoint in daylight hours, stealing $2K from the register, police said.
A thief made off with $2,000 after robbing a Newark Avenue convenience store at gunpoint last week.
On April 17, a man entered the Belleville News & Food Store shortly after 2:30 p.m and demanded that the employees give over “all the money," Belleville police said.
According to a police report, the robber is a black male approximately 6'1, wearing a black t-shirt and blue jeans and carrying a silver handgun. Police say that footage from the store’s surveillance camera shows the suspect wore sleeves over his arms. The sleeves are often worn to conceal tattoos.
