Here's who filed petitions to run in Belleville and Nutley's board of education races this November.
BELLEVILLE-NUTLEY, NJ — The 2024 general election will likely be a high-turnout year with a presidential race on the ballot. But there will also be local decisions to be made on Nov. 5 in Belleville and Nutley: a pair of school board races.

With Monday’s deadline for candidates to file petitions in the rearview mirror, four people have filed to run in Belleville’s board of education race. Two seats are up for election; terms last for three years.

Here are the candidates and their slogans, as per the Essex County Clerk’s Office:
- Nicole Coviello Daddis – “Belleville’s Children First”
- Jean Rodriguez Gillis – “Teacher For Belleville”
- Kenia Nicole Arroyabe – “Bridging The Gaps”
- Esteban Leon – “Better Belleville BOE”

In Nutley, four candidates have filed to run for three seats on the board of education. Terms last for three years.
The candidates and their slogans are:
- Nicholas Scotti – “Nutley Families First”
- Daniel Fraginals – “Foundation and Future”
- Stephen Gilberti – “7 million reasons”
- Joseph Battaglia – (none listed)
