Belleville Officer, Police Chief Earn Honors For ‘Outstanding’ Work
A local detective solved a complex case, Belleville authorities say. Meanwhile, the BPD chief got an award at a police society event.
BELLEVILLE, NJ — A local detective and the chief of police in Belleville recently earned honors for their “outstanding” work, the BPD recently reported.
The Belleville Police Department shared the following congratulations for Det. Anthony Tejada via social media last week after he was named “Officer of the Month” for March:
“Detective Tejada is being recognized for his outstanding work in solving a complex vehicle theft case that led to the arrest of a suspect connected to multiple motor vehicle thefts in Belleville and the surrounding towns. His dedication, persistence, and quick action not only resulted in a successful apprehension but also helped bring closure to several ongoing investigations in the area. We are proud to honor Detective Tejada for his unwavering commitment to justice and the safety of our community.”

In other news, Belleville’s chief of police, Mark Minichini, was recently honored as the Law Enforcement Executive of the Year at the Annual Italian American Police Society of New Jersey Awards Gala.

According to a post from the BPD:
“Surrounded by his family, friends, and members of the department, Chief Minichini was recognized for his outstanding leadership, integrity, and commitment to public service. A well-deserved honor for a true example of what it means to serve and lead with distinction. Congratulations, chief!”
