BOE Candidate Drops Out of Race

Former candidate Alan Thomas reportedly pursuing the interim position replacing outgoing board member Vicky Flynn.

There’s one less candidate running for Nutley School Board, according to published reports.

Alan Thomas, an attorney who ran for the school board in 2012, has dropped out, the Nutley Sun reported. 

Thomas is instead reportedly pursuing the interim position that opened with board member Vicky Flynn's resignation.

Two sitting members of the board are running; Board President Charles Kucinski and Board trustee James A. Kuchta.

Former Board President Kenneth Reilly is running as well. Reilly retired from the board in 2011 and ran for Board of Commissioners the following year.

Daniel A. Carnicella and Yvette Wallace, a local realtor and a co-chair of the Yantacaw School PTO, are also running.
