Car Crimes Reported In Nutley: Stolen Vehicle, Catalytic Converter Theft
Recent incidents included a stolen vehicle, a catalytic converter theft and two car burglaries, Nutley police said.
NUTLEY, NJ — Several motor vehicle-related crimes were recently reported in Nutley, police announced Thursday.
The Nutley Police Department released the following details about each incident:
June 16 (River Road) – “Officers responded on report of a motor vehicle theft. The victim stated that when they returned to where they parked their vehicle it was missing. The victim stated that their key fob was left inside the vehicle. The surrounding area was canvassed for further information, and the Detective Bureau was advised.”

June 16 (River Road) – “A resident advised officers of a theft from their vehicle. They stated that their vehicle was locked and that they observed a pair of sunglasses missing. The Detective Bureau was advised and arrived on scene.”
June 17 (Grant Avenue) – “Officers responded on report of a catalytic converter theft. The victim stated when they started their vehicle, they heard an unusual noise and observed a warning light on their vehicle dashboard. They stated that their mechanic advised them their catalytic converter had been tampered with. The surrounding area was canvassed for further information, and the Detective Bureau was advised.”

June 18 (Underhill Court) – “A party advised officers their vehicle had been burglarized. They stated they observed a bag missing from inside their vehicle that contained their wallet. The surrounding area was canvassed for further information, and the Detective Bureau was advised.”
