Carmen Bucco Concedes Congress Race In NJ-10: 'A New Beginning'

NEW JERSEY — Congressional candidate Carmen Bucco has conceded the race in New Jersey’s 10th District to his Democratic opponent, LaMonica McIver.

Bucco – the Republican nominee in NJ-10 – was among five challengers who took on McIver in the 2024 general election. The district includes several municipalities in Essex, Hudson and Union counties. See Related: Bucco Battles Back From NJ-10 Election Defeat, Sets Sights On November

Bucco, a Kenilworth resident who owns a business and founded a nonprofit in Nutley – Bucco’s Rising Stars – issued the following statement on Wednesday:

“In the aftermath of a vigorous and heartfelt campaign, I want to extend a warm congratulations to my opponent, Ms. McIver, on her Congressional win, as well as to all victorious candidates and candidates the put their hearts and souls across New Jersey that did not have the outcome they desired. The dedication, sacrifice, and hard work exhibited by all participants in this election exemplify a shared commitment to creating positive change within our communities. Reflecting on the journey, I am deeply grateful for the outpouring of support received from the community. There is no loss in this experience, only more opportunities to make a difference in our state and country. The 10th District includes the following municipalities: Caldwell, East Orange, Essex Fells, Irvington, Montclair (part), Newark (part), Orange, Verona, West Orange in Essex County; Jersey City (part) in Hudson County; Cranford, Garwood, Hillside, Kenilworth, Linden (part), Roselle, Roselle Park, Union Township in Union County.
