Cheering Registrations Now Being Accepted For 2013 Season

Commissioner Tucci Announced that

Commissioner Mauro G. Tucci and the Nutley Department of Parks and Recreation are preparing for another season of Recreation Sports.  Cheerleading applications are currently being accepted at the Recreation Department, located at 44 Park Ave.  Practice will begin mid to late summer for the Cheerleading Program.  Online registration is now available at www.Nutleynj.org.  Applications are also being accepted at the Recreation Department, 44 Park Ave. This program is open to Nutley youngsters in grades 3 through 8 as of September 2013.  Our programs are designed to provide youth with a positive youth sports experience. We do this by emphasizing learning the sport, sportsmanship and an equal opportunity to participate.  “We offer a variety of programs year-round that encourage the development of positive attitudes while focusing on teamwork” stated Commissioner Mauro G. Tucci.  Recreation Cheering is a great way for young ladies to express themselves while being taught team unity, basic dance techniques, and good sportsmanship. Curriculum includes body moves, dexterity development and the coordination of extremities. The goal of the Recreation Department is to provide activities that increase each child's self-confidence and respect for self and others while establishing and maintaining a fitness level that encourages life-long habits to promote good health.  “Cheerleading is an important element in our sports programs, encouraging the crowd to show community spirit and support the playing teams efforts” sated Commissioner Tucci. A mandatory meetings have been scheduled for June 17, 2013,  7:00 p.m. at the Parks and Recreation Department, 44 Park Ave, Room 300.  All grades are to attend this meeting. Parents and cheerleaders are required to attend.  The fee for this program will be $35.00 per child with a deadline of June 30, 2013.  No registrations will be accepted after the final deadline.
