Don’t Park Along These Railroad Tracks In Belleville, Police Say

"If vehicles continue to park in violation, Norfolk Southern police will be issuing summons and towing vehicles," Belleville officials said.

BELLEVILLE, NJ — If you’ve been parking your car along the railroad tracks on Valley Street in Belleville, it’s a good time to find another spot, local officials say.

The Belleville Police Department issued the following advisory on Tuesday:

“Please be advised that the area along the railroad tracks on Valley Street is private property that belongs to Norfolk Southern Railroad. Norfolk Southern does not allow parking on their property. Norfolk Sothern police will be in the Township of Belleville over the next several weeks to address the illegal parking going on along the railroad tracks. They will be issuing warnings to vehicles that are parked in violation. They will also be placing signs advising motorists not to park on their property.”

“If vehicles continue to park in violation, Norfolk Southern police will be issuing summons and towing vehicles in violation,” the BPD added.
