Snow Day Scenes, More Winter Weather on the Way

Hopefully you enjoyed that mild weather over the first weekend of February.

Because Mother Nature is getting back to her winter business.

After the region was dumped on Monday with as much as 10 inches of snow, closing schools, government buildings and wreaking havoc on roadways, there’s more in store, according to the National Weather Service.

A winter storm watch has been issued with 5 to 10 more inches expected Tuesday night into Wednesday before changing over to sleet and freezing rain, according to the National Weather Service.

Not only will more precipitation hit the area, but temperatures are expected to drop into the teens Wednesday night. Snow is expected to begin after 1 a.m. Wednesday morning, turning into snow and sleet until 10 a.m., the National Weather Service said.

From 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesday, snow and freezing rain is expected, which will then become a chance of rain after 2 p.m. The high on Wednesday will be around 36 degrees, the service said.

This winter has lived up to its northeastern billing, with what seems to be a new storm each week.
