Famous Doo-Wop Singer From Nutley Discusses Career, Life (VIDEO)

Tommy Petillo, the lead singer of the legendary Doo-Wop group the "Duprees," was recently featured on a local podcast series.

NUTLEY, NJ — Tommy Petillo, the lead singer of the legendary Doo-Wop group the “Duprees,” was recently featured on a podcast series that spotlights interesting and inspiring Nutley residents.

Petillo – a Nutley High School class of 1969 graduate – was the latest guest on the Inside Nutley Podcast.

Hosted by lifelong resident Thomas Greco, the monthly podcast provides a look at current town issues, explores how the town is moving forward, spotlights residents and businesses, and answers questions from Nutley residents.

Petillo spoke about his legendary singing career, his Army stint during the Vietnam War, and performing those classic songs like "You Belong to Me," "Have You Heard" and "My Own True Love."
