Garro, Munoz, Arroyabe Win Belleville School Board Race: Election Results Certified

The 2025 election results have been certified. Here's the final tally for the Belleville Board of Education race.

BELLEVILLE, NJ — The dust has settled from the 2025 board of education election in Belleville, and Christina Garro, Yadira Munoz and Kenia Arroyabe have emerged victorious, official results show.

A highly watched governor race brought many Belleville residents to the polls on Nov. 4. But there were plenty of other choices for local voters to make in the 2025 general election, including a school board race.

Eight candidates competed for three open seats on the Belleville Board of Education. Terms last for three years.

With 100 percent of districts reported and the results certified, Christina Garro, Yadira Munoz and Kenia Arroyabe have captured seats on the board.

Here are the final tallies, according to the Essex County Clerk's Office:

  • Christina Garro – 4,219 votes (20.8%)
  • Gabrielle Bennett-Meany – 2,327 votes (11.47%)
  • Nicole Coviello Daddis – 2,345 votes (11.56%)
  • Michael W. Sheldon – 1,464 votes (7.22%)
  • Kenia Arroyabe – 2,892 votes (14.26%)
  • Ana Mansilla – 2,762 votes (13.62%)
  • Yadira Munoz – 3,168 votes (15.62%)
  • Michael L. Derro – 1,109 votes (5.47%)
