Local Justice: Decisions in Belleville Municipal Court
The Municipal Court handles criminal cases arising in Belleville. The four cases handled this week are reported below.

In State v. Belleville Industrial Center, the State charged defendant on October 29 with an unsafe building (#15). The defendant was found guilty. The Court imposed fines and costs totaling $530. A contractor was hired to make the building safe.
In State v. Thomas Verlingo, of Belleville, the State charged defendant (the owner of a bar) on February 19 with not having an complete employee list available in violation of a Township Ordinance. The matter went to trial and defendant was found guilty. The Court imposed fines and costs totaling $130.
In State v. Kishwan Crawford, of East Orange, the State charged defendant on March 3 with operating a motor vehicle with an open liquor container. The matter went to trial and defendant was found guilty. The Court imposed fines and costs totaling $239.

In State v. Darren J Gutierrez, of Belleville, the State charged defendant on February 23 with possession of alcohol with a minor. The matter went to trial and defendant was found guilty. The Court imposed fines and costs totaling $257.
The Belleville Municipal Court convenes in the Municipal Building, located at
152 Washington Avenue. The Court convenes Tuesdays and Wednesdays.
