Local Justice: Decisions in Municipal Court
The Municipal Court handles criminal cases arising in Belleville. Five of the cases are reported below.

In State v. Sharad Randya, of Nutley, the State charged defendant with the March 6 theft of 40 Star Ledger newspapers from Shoppers Express. The matter went to trial and defendant was found guilty. The Court imposed fines and costs totaling $507.
In State v. Kevin Sanchez, of Paterson, and in State v. Sean Rayback, of Wallingston, the State charged both defendants with criminal mischief for spray painting a wall on March 2 . The matter went to trial and both defendants were found guilty. The Court imposed fines and costs totaling $357 on each of the defendants.
In State v. Avery Thompson, of Newark, the State charged defendant with disorderly conduct on December 31. The matter went to trial and defendant was found guilty. The Court imposed fines and costs totaling $457.

In State v. Shaklonda Farry, of Beechwood, the State charged defendant with two counts of theft arising from the August 11 theft of a wallet containing credit cards and a social security number. The matter went to trial and defendant was found guilty of one count of theft. The Court imposed fines and costs totaling $407.
The Belleville Municipal Court convenes in the Municipal Building, located at
152 Washington Avenue. The Court convenes Tuesdays and Wednesdays.
