Local Justice: Decisions in the Nutley Municipal Court

The Nutley Municipal Court handled these two criminal matters involving small amounts of controlled dangerous substances.

In State v. Jaquan McIver, of Belleville, the State charged defendant with possessing under 50 grams of a controlled dangerous substance.  The defendant pleaded guilty to an amended charge of improper behavior in violation of a Township ordinance.  The Court imposed on defendant a term of 20 hours of community service and imposed fees and costs totaling $189.

In State v. Victor Garcia, of Belleville, the State charged defendant with possessing under 50 grams of a controlled dangerous substance.  The defendant pleaded guilty to an amended charge of loitering in violation of a Township ordinance.  The Court imposed on defendant a term of 20 hours of community service and imposed fees and costs totaling $189.
