The Department of Parks and Recreation this week announced Nutley’s return of “Movie Under the Stars."
The movie selection for 2013 is “Hotel Transylvania," which follows Dracula's adventures operating a high-end resort hidden from the human world and acting as an overprotective parent when a boy discovers the resort and falls for the famed vampire's teen-age daughter.
Spectators are welcome to bring a lawn chair or blanket and view a movie under the stars. The movie is projected on a large blown up screen set in the Nutley Oval at 300 Franklin Ave.

“Our goal is to create a family environment for residents to come together and spend quality time with one another” Commissioner Mauro G. Tucci said in a release. "Our youngsters learn about family values from the time they spend with their own. Our families are the most important aspects of our lives but with the growing number of challenges we face when it comes to family time, whether it be our busy work schedules, increasing responsibilities or our children’s sport schedules, it is important we don’t forget to take time out to enjoy today. As recreation professionals we play an important role in molding some of the values that can gradually deteriorate within busy family schedules. By implementing and centering our efforts on family recreation we can be a tremendous positive force in our community.
This special event will take place on Friday, June 7 at 7:30 p.m. with a rain date scheduled for June 9.
