My Chemical Romance Releases New Song Ahead Of World Tour: Video

The band, which has ties to Belleville and Newark, is returning to New Jersey for two shows after delaying their tour due to the pandemic.

ESSEX COUNTY, NJ — New Jersey emo rock legends My Chemical Romance are conjuring up a wave of nostalgia with an international tour and the surprise release of a new song – their first since 2014.

The band – which has ties to Belleville and Newark and rose to prominence in the 2000s – kicked off their tour earlier this week in England. It will include two shows in New Jersey at the Prudential Center in Newark on Tuesday, Sept. 20 and Wednesday, Sept. 21.

The band broke up in 2013. However, they reunited for a small series of concerts in 2019 and announced a 2020 tour, later postponing it to 2021 because of the coronavirus pandemic … and then again to 2022.
