New Company Will Take Over Some Belleville School Bus Routes
There may be some "minor delays" as the new drivers get accustomed to the routes, administrators said.
BELLEVILLE, NJ — A new company will be taking over transportation for some bus routes in the Belleville Public School District on Tuesday, administrators say.
Superintendent Erick Alfonso released an update for the school community about the switch. He wrote:
“Due to unforeseen circumstances, our externally contracted transportation provider is no longer able to continue servicing a portion of our student routes. In response, we have proactively secured R & May Transportation to assume these responsibilities beginning Tuesday, October 14, ensuring that there is no disruption in service.

“This change specifically affects students traveling to School 4, the Donald M. Payne School of Technology, and West Caldwell Vocational School. While we are confident that R & May Transportation will provide safe and reliable service, we want to make families aware of the possibility of minor delays over the first few days as the new drivers become acclimated to our routes and routines.
“We remain committed to doing whatever it takes to support our students and families. Your patience, understanding, and continued partnership are truly appreciated as we navigate this brief transition together.
