BELLEVILLE-NUTLEY, NJ — The 2024 general election has come to a close, and all districts have been reported in the races for Belleville and Nutley's school boards.

Belleville and Nutley voters went to their local polling places on Nov. 5 to cast ballots for boards of education candidates, among other choices. BELLEVILLE

In Belleville, there are four candidates competing for two open seats on the board of education. Terms last for three years. The candidates are: Nicole Coviello Daddis, Esteban Leon, Kenia Nicole Arroyabe, and Jean Rodriguez Gillis.

With 100 percent of districts reported, it appears that Leon and Rodriguez Gillis have captured seats on the board. Both candidates have received congratulatory messages: Leon from mayor Michael Melham, and Rodriguez Gillis from councilman Frank Velez.

Here are the uncertified election results, as per the Essex County Clerk’s Office:

  • Nicole Coviello Daddis – 4,472 votes (27.69%)
  • Esteban Leon – 5,040 votes (31.2%)
  • Kenia Nicole Arroyabe – 1,813 votes (11.22%)
  • Jean Rodriguez Gillis – 4,828 votes (29.89%)

NUTLEY

In Nutley, there are four candidates competing for three open seats on the board of education. Terms last for three years. The candidates are: Stephen Gilberti, Nicholas Scotti, Daniel Fraginals, and Joseph Battaglia.

With 100 percent of districts reported, it appears that Scotti, Fraginals and Gilberti have captured seats on the board.

Here are the uncertified election results, as per the Essex County Clerk’s Office:

  • Stephen Gilberti – 5,786 votes (24.61%)
  • Nicholas Scotti – 7,059 votes (30.03%)
  • Daniel Fraginals – 6,062 votes (25.79%)
  • Joseph Battaglia – 4,600 votes (19.57%)
