Nutley Boy Returns To School After 16 Months, Gets Huge Reception

A 9-year-old Nutley boy took a memorable trip to school on Monday, leaving many of his well-wishers with smiles of joy on their faces.

NUTLEY, NJ — A 9-year-old Nutley boy took a memorable trip to school on Monday, leaving many of his well-wishers with smiles of joy on their faces.

Chase McGee, a local elementary student in Nutley, got a special police escort to school to help celebrate his first day back to class after a 16-month absence due to medical reasons.

McGee was greeted at his home by classmates, who walked with him on his first day. Officials closed several nearby streets, and DJ music rang out to wish him luck.
