Nutley Revisits Boxing History This Week
Boxer dubbed "the Pride of Nutley" will hold court on 1976 bout.

On Thursday, Nutley will get in the ring.
Former boxer Rockin' Ron Vassalo, the "Pride of Nutley," will visit the Nutley museum to recount 1976 boxing bout the "Rumble in the Oval."
Vassalo topped the boxing card held 37 years ago at a boxing promotion that also included the "Weehawken Wildman" Kevin Smith and the "The Kearny Kid" Irish Johnny Sullivan.

Vassalo and the promoter of the event, Paul Denkinger, will relive the night of fights at the Nutley Museum on April 18.
The event is free. Light refreshments will be served, and the museum will be open.
