BELLEVILLE, NJ — Wondering what the road work is all about – and when it’s expected to end? Here are three ongoing projects happening in Belleville, according to recent municipal advisories:
WASHINGTON AVENUE – “Please be advised that the New Jersey Department of Transportation will begin the next phase of the Washington Avenue Construction Project this week (March 18). The work on Washington Avenue will be conducted from Mill Street to Howard Place. Please be aware of ‘No Parking’ areas during the construction. Thank you for your patience and cooperation.”
FRANKLIN STREET – “The Township will commence road construction on Franklin Street on March 20, 2025 through April 18, 2025 from 7 am to 4 pm. Be prepared for road closures and detours while work is being completed.”

SANFORD AVENUE – “The Township will be installing and replacing sidewalks on Sanford Avenue from March 24 through April 10, between 7 am and 5 pm. During this time, road closures and detours will be in place. Please plan accordingly, allow extra travel time, and follow posted detour signs. We appreciate your patience as we work to improve the community’s infrastructure.”
