Safer Streets Near Belleville High School; Public Meeting This Week
An ongoing effort to improve traffic safety near Belleville High School will continue this week at a public meeting.

BELLEVILLE, NJ — An ongoing effort to improve traffic safety near Belleville High School will continue at a virtual forum scheduled this week.
A public meeting for the Belleville High School Safer Streets Plan is scheduled for Wednesday, March 19 at 6:30 p.m. It will take place via Zoom; register online here.
Attendees can learn more about potential pedestrian and bicycle safety improvements around Belleville High School. The recommendations are based on a study of four streets around the school, and address public feedback about a temporary bike lane demonstration installed on Division Avenue last fall.

This week’s meeting is part of the Complete Streets Technical Assistance Program, a collaboration between Sustainable Jersey, the Voorhees Transportation Center at Rutgers University, and the North Jersey Transportation Planning Authority (NJTPA).
Funded by the NJTPA, the program supports municipal efforts to make a safer, more connected road network for all users, organizers said.
