"Tanning Mom" might have escaped her grand jury indictment last month, but the state hasn't forgotten about her altogether.  The Associate Press reports that on Monday, April 1, <a href="http://bigstory.ap.org/article/nj-governor-signs-ban-tanning-bed-use-minors" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">New Jersey Governor Chris Christie signed legislation banning anyone under 17 from using a tanning bed and anyone under 14 from getting a spray tan</a>. The legislation was written after Nutley resident Patricia Krentcil was accused of taking her 5-year-old daughter into a tanning booth  last year and was subsequently charged with child endangerment. The deeply tanned Krentcil became a grotesque sort of celebrity, with tabloids dubbing her Tanning Mom. The AP reported that Christie cited the "documented and well-understood" risks associated with the misuse of indoor tanning systems while endorsing the legislation.
