Nutley Officials Honor Fallen Veteran Pervis Robison

Nutley officials joined active members of the U.S. Marine in a solemn ceremony commemorating the 50th anniversary of Nutley’s Pervis Robison death. Robison, a Nutley High graduate, was a Navy serviceman who died when the submarine he was assigned to lost power and imploded off the coast of Cape Cod during a test run.

Mayor Alphonse Petracco and the H.O.P.E. for Nutley committee recently unveiled an ambitious and internet-savvy community outreach project: Nutley’s Ultimate Flash Mob. Nutley residents, young and old alike, are encouraged to learn the choreographed dance over the next several weeks for a chance to be filmed as part of a final product that will be presented at the Township of Nutley’s Fourth of July Civic Celebration.

Belleville Resident Charged With Selling Synthetic Marijuana In His Shop

A Belleville resident was arrested for allegedly selling synthetic marijuana from his smoke shop. Tamer Tasliarmut, 34, the owner of Serenity Tobacco and Gift Shop in Little Falls was arrested on Monday, on charges he sold K2, according to a Passaic Valley Today report. 

Tick Tock Diner Manager Charged in Murder-for-Hire Plot

The manager of the iconic Tick Tock Diner in Clifton tried to have his uncle killed in an elaborate murder-for-hire plot, state police said at a news conference Wednesday. Georgios Spyropoulos, 45, of Clifton was arrested Monday at the Allwood Road eatery. His uncle, Alexandros Sgourdos, 57, of Clifton, who co-owns the diner, was the intended victim, authorities said.
