Berkeley's Dudley Park Closed For Swimming Wednesday
The water tested for "unsafe levels" of E. coli bacteria, officials said.
BERKELEY, NJ — Dudley Park is closed for swimming on June 29 due to E. coli levels in the water, officials said.
Berkeley officials said that the levels of E. coli bacteria in the water were "unsafe."
"We apologize for the inconvenience and thank you for your patience," Berkeley officials said.

Escherichia coli, or E. coli, is one of the most common causes of swimming-related illness, according to the Center for Disease Control (CDC).
Most E. coli strands are harmless, according to the CDC, but some can cause diarrhea, urinary tract infections, respiratory illness, bloodstream infections and other illnesses.
