'Brenden Is An Old Soul': Here's Why He's A Berkeley Star Student
Brenden is always positive and always helping, his mother says. Here's why he was shouted out as a Berkeley Star Student.
BERKELEY, NJ — Star Students are found in classrooms, on concert and theater stages and at debate lecterns, and out in the community doing good things to make life better for all of us.
Here at Patch, we've launched an initiative to help recognize Star Students, and we’re working to tell the stories of these outstanding kids to their neighbors.

Why do you believe the star local student should be recognized?
Brenden is an old soul. He is always finding the positive in any situation. He has a vigorous workload with school, holds excellent grades, participates in Mock Trial, yet finds the time to volunteer, attend boxing AND work in the summer. He is always willingly wanting to help his grandparents and family without hesitation or compensation. He will make sure his peers are never alone and always chooses to include. He truly is a one of a kind.
What's one thing you want everyone to know about the star local student?
Brenden is a kind, compassionate, empathetic teen who will always be there for someone.
