David B. Gunderson, Longtime Bayville Resident, Dies At 42

Services will be held on Friday and Saturday in Bayville.

David B. Gunderson of Bayville died on Feb. 4 at home. He was 42.

He was born on May 17, 1975 in Rhinebeck, New York and lived in Bayville most of his life. He was a graduate of Central Regional High School and Kean University. David was devoted to his family and was a lover of all that is in nature. Long walks in Double Trouble State Park, and the ocean shores were his comfort and inspiration.

He is survived by his mother Susan Racko and loving stepfather Jim Racko, of Bayville, his father Charles Gundersen and wife Alice of South Pomfret, Vermont, his brothers Chip Gunderson and wife Marissa, Seth Gundersen and his wife Meg and Zane Gundersen and his wife Morgan, his nephews Quintin and Theo Gunderson, his cousins John Stone, Katilin Stone, Emily Stone, to name just a few of his cousins and aunts and incles, nieces and nephews too many to list, all of whom he loved beyond measure. David brought joy and peace to all and will be sorely missed.

Visiting hours will be from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Friday, Feb 9 at the Mastapeter Funeral Home, 270 Atlantic City Boulevard inBayville. Relatives and friends are asked to gather at 9:15 a.m. at St. Barnabas R.C. Church in Bayville for a 9:30 funeral Mass. Cremation will be private.
