Dog Rescued From Burning House In Berkeley: Police
The Holiday City home was deemed uninhabitable after the Saturday fire, Berkeley police said.
BERKELEY, NJ — A dog was rescued from a burning home in Holiday City that was destroyed in the fire, Berkeley police said.
Responders went to the Barbuda Street home for the report of a structure fire on Nov. 15, police said. Heavy smoke and flames were coming from inside and the homeowner was already safely outside, police said.
A dog was inside at the time of the fire, but was successfully rescued by firefighters and EMS, police said. The dog was taken to Northstar Animal Clinic in Brick to be treated for smoke inhalation and was stable as of Sunday.

Members of the Manitou, Bayville, Pinewald, and Toms River Fire Departments, along with Berkeley Township First Aid, responded to the scene.
The American Red Cross also responded to assist the homeowner with emergency housing and clothing.

Preliminary investigation found that the fire was accidental, caused by an unattended candle, police said.
