Frank Vindigni, U.S. Navy World War II Veteran, Dies At 89

Services for Berkeley resident will be held on Friday and Saturday.

Frank Vindigni of Holiday City West in Berkeley Township, NJ, passed away Saturday, Jan 27, 2018 at Community Medical Center in Toms River. He was 89.

A lifelong resident of Mount Vernon, New York, he moved to Berkeley Township 18 years ago. Frank was a fire dispatcher for the City of Mount Vernon for 45 years. He was a US Navy WWII veteran and was a parishioner of St. Joseph R.C. Church in Toms River, New Jersey.

Frank was an avid reader, gardener and NY Giants and Knicks fan, but his greatest pleasure was time spent with his beloved wife, grandchildren and great grandchild. Frank is survived by his wife of 67 years, Mary (nee Spear), his three sons Paul Vindigni and wife Tanja of Portland, OR, Pete Vindigni and wife Sue of Woodbury, CT and Frank Vindigni and wife Jane of Montvale, NJ, a brother George Vindigni of Mount Vernon, NY, a sister Camille Melin of St. Augustine, FL, seven grandchildren; Melissa, Samantha, TJ, Michael, Chris, Nick and Katie and one great grandchild, Taylor.

The family will receive friends from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 9 p.m on Friday at the Timothy E. Ryan Home for Funerals, 145 St. Catherine Blvd., Toms River. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10 a.m. on Saturday at St. Joseph RC Church, Toms River.
