'A Friend To Treasure Forever': Kaitlyn, Berkeley Star Student

BERKELEY, NJ — Star Students are found in classrooms, on concert and theater stages and at debate lecterns, and out in the community doing good things to make life better for all of us.

Here at Patch, we've launched an initiative to help recognize Star Students, and we’re working to tell the stories of these outstanding kids to their neighbors.

This submission comes from Barbara Gammy Allen who nominated Kaitlyn of Berkeley. Allen is Kaitlyn's grandmother.

Why do you believe the star local student should be recognized?

💞Kaitlyn is a very Patriotic, loving and caring child to seniors and all her friends. She takes skating lessons and tries to give confidence to the other students in class having a hard time. She seems to take people under her wing and in return, she is proud cuz she knows she's making herself a better person. She tells people "All you can do, is the Best you can." She knows I watch Alzheimers and they need extra care. She entertains, draws and talks sweetly to them trying to act like she's their best friend. She feeds her wildlife friends, making sure we always have extra birdseed and loves learning about nature. She loves planting crops and always shares only if 1 is ripe at a time. She adores all ainimals and seeing videos where they've helped animals in trouble. She went to Seaside to see the Whale that died recently and she never wants that to happen again.💕
