Reports Of Attempted Luring In Harbor Inn Road Area Are Unfounded, Berkeley Police Chief Says

Police checked out driver of white van and found nothing suspicious

Berkeley Township, NJ - Berkeley police have not found any evidence of attempted luring in the Harbor Inn Road area, despite an investigation into the incident, Police Chief Karin T. DiMichele said.

Police received a report on Jan. 26 of a suspicious white van with a driver who was speaking to neighborhood children at a Harbor Inn Road bus stop. Police responded immediately and also patrolled the bus stop for the next several days, the chief said.

Berkeley detectives responded to the area and conducted a follow-up investigation to try to identify the vehicle and the driver. They contacted and interviewed the driver, DiMichele said.
