ISLAND BEACH STATE PARK, NJ — The sewer blockage issues that plagued beachgoers at Island Beach State Park over the 4th of July weekend should be no more, officials said.

In an update posted Tuesday evening, state park officials said that the sewer system was again working. The popular beach had experienced sewer blockage issues for several days before they opened at limited capacity this past Sunday.

These issues forced the park to close restrooms while Island Beach State Park staff and outside contractors work to identify and resolve the issue, park officials said.
