Wires Down Across Veterans Blvd., Road Closed: Berkeley Police

As of Thursday afternoon, there are wires down across Veterans Boulevard and Montgomery Street. Expect the road to be closed all day.

BERKELEY, NJ — As of Thursday afternoon, Veterans Boulevard is closed due to downed wires, Berkeley police said.

A Nixle alert went out at 12:20 p.m. saying that wires were down across Veterans and Montgomery Street in the Pinewald section of Bayville.

Veterans will be closed from Western Boulevard to the Forest Hills Parkway/Grand Central Parkway intersection, and it is expected to last until sometime this evening, police said.

"Motorists can access the parkway by using the following detour route; north along Western Blvd, west on Northern Blvd, and south on Grand Central Parkway," police said.

Utility crews are currently working to fix the issues, police said.
