Bedminster Centenarian To Be Honored At Luncheon
A Bedminster resident and county residents who are at least 100 years old will be honored at a luncheon this week.
A Bedminster resident who is 100 years old will be among those county residents aged 100 years and older honored at a luncheon for Somerset County Centenarians this week.
Somerset County Freeholder Deputy Director Patricia Walsh will be attending the annual luncheon honoring the county’s centenarians at noon on Wednesday, May 20. The luncheon will be held at the Regency Jewish Heritage Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, 380 DeMott Lane in Somerset.
A number of residents will honored at the luncheon, including one Bedminster resident, according to Somerset County officials. Edith Sumerfield, 100, of Bedminster, will be among 16 county residents honored at the event.

In total, 24 Somerset County centenarians will be honored at the luncheon.
The other county residents to be honored at the luncheon include: Bridgewater residents Philip Annich, 103, Norma Horger, 102, Reubin Lansky, 100, Jane Lee, 100, and Catherine Helen Stevens, 104; Basking Ridge residents Margaret MacKenzie, 108, and Mildred Van Dyke, 102; Somerset residents Hannah Abse, 100, Dorothy Black, 101, Anna Girandola, 101, Sylvia Morrett, 102, Mollie Reuben, 102, and Emma Tyukody, 101; Gloria Andersen, 100, of Hillsborough; Rita Ireland, 100, of Manville; Tessie Palatini, 101, of Somerville; and Angelina Sangregorio, 105, of Watchung.

To be honored in absentia are Michael LaBrunda, 100, and Anna Catherine Wachowicz, 100, both of Basking Ridge; George Rother, 103, of Bridgewater; Jean Roth, 101, of Somerset; and Claudia Beitz, 100, and Carolyn McCullough, 101, both of Somerville; and Carolyn Dixon, 101, of Belle Mead.
The luncheon is being hosted by the Regency Jewish Heritage Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in collaboration with the Somerset County Office on Aging and Disability Services.
The Somerset County Board of Chosen Freeholders participate in the annual luncheon in celebration of Older Americans Month, established in 1963. The month recognizes contributions of individuals ages 60 years old and up.
