Bedminster to Introduce School Budget Wednesday
The district has been struggling with very high costs this year.

With an interim superintendent in place to finish the process, the Bedminster Township School Board is planning to introduce its 2013-2014 school budget at Wednesday’s special meeting.
The budget introduction is planned just before the budget is required to be submitted to the county superintendent Thursday.

With this, and increasing costs for sending students to Bernards High School, the district is looking at an increase of $1.4 million in the total budget, which would cause a 10 percent increase—as opposed to the 2 percent cap allowed by the state to keep the budget off the ballot in November.
The 2012-2013 budget only increased by 1.27 percent.

The district has been working hard on creating a budget, despite Superintendent Carolyn Koos’s sick leave, which has taken her out of the district for the last month.
